It's okay to claim ignorance on confusing subjects, but it's even better to get an education. Credit cards, loans, Roth, financing, debt, 401k, money management, budgeting, investing, ESA and 539s, S&P 500 index -- these terms are often misunderstood, bore adults and make babies cry. Unfortunately most people don't take an interest until the Repo Man comes knocking.

Before a financial crisis occurs (and it will happen, just ask anybody with a pulse who had to pay their own way through life, please take some time to get educated. If you have a plan in place before a crisis, and have the knowledge and tools in place to deal with a crisis, then it's really difficult to still call it a "crisis."
